Comment on Oak powdery mildew – what’s all the fuss?’, Elsa Field, Oxford University by Andrew

During and after this extraordinarily hot and dry summer most of my young Oaks developed severe mildew, but none of the Turkey Oaks. Sometimes trees standing within 4ft of an infected one remained unaffected. They are all under 6ft high and less than 9 years old, grown from acorns. My garden is on the Baltic in Northern Germany. The traditional treatment here is to wash them with milk. It normally works quite well.
